Meta is reportedly cutting 4,000 technical roles across its platforms Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram in its second round of layoffs. The move, announced in an SEC filing, comes after CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in March that the company would cut 10,000 jobs amid economic uncertainty. The next round of layoffs may focus on product-facing teams and business-facing roles, such as finance, legal and HR, and the company is also likely to be restructuring and changing hierarchy post the layoffs. Instagram will be winding down its presence in London, with some individual roles returning to North America.
