US technology companies are talking less about a possible recession this earnings season, instead focusing on artificial intelligence, according to Bloomberg data. Mark Luschini, CIO at Janney Montgomery Scott, said the trend created a positive signal for business prospects and profitability, suggesting the economy was "reasonably resilient". The report revealed that references to a slowdown and recession are down over 70% on last year. Meanwhile, companies are more interested in explaining how they plan to monetise AI services and products, and mentions of "headwinds" on calls to analysts slipped from 70 in Q4 2018 to 31 this season.
