The Writers Guild has ended their 148-day-long strike after reaching a tentative agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. The agreement includes protection against artificial intelligence and fairer pay for writers. The new contract prohibits the use of generative AI to write or rewrite literary material. Writers can only use AI with consent from the company or studio, and studios must disclose if any part of the material is generated by AI. The agreement also promises better pay, working conditions, and increased payments for streaming projects. SAG-AFTRA, on the other hand, is still on strike.
